u.s. sailors have disappeared in afghanistan. a massive air and ground search is under way to find them. taliban representatives told cbs news they have been taken to a secure location. u.s. military confirms two navy service members left their base in kabul friday, and then disappeared in the lowgar province, their engine crawling with taliban fighters. the local afghan chief says taliban fighters tried to stop the sailor's vehicle but when it kept going, insurgents opened fire and the troops shot back. the only u.s. soldier believed to be held by the taliban is boberg dahl from idaho, he disappeared in 2009 and reappeared on videos posted by the taliban. the troops search for the servicemen and others continue to come under attack. although troops survived the roadside bombing attack with only minor injuries, the u.s. military says five american soldiers have been killed, in separate bomb attack, saturday. last month was the deadliest for u.s. forces in afghanistan, since the war began.
